-Watching Television
I watch Mostly News and
Public Affairs Programs (I studied Broadcasting & Broadcast News
in College and I have both an Associates Degree and a Bachelors Degree
with academic concentrations related to Broadcasting). However...I
do watch other Programs as well
(check out My Favorite Radio & TV Programs section on this
web page for a list of some of my favorite television and radio programs).
Shopping (Mostly
Window Shopping)
I usually go shopping or window shopping to get
out of the house and I have nothing else to do. I also go shopping
(mostly window shopping) to check out the latest and greatest in modern
technology.
Collecting Antiques
I usually go by thrift
stores (such as Second Hand Rose in Effingham, IL) and Resale Shops
(such as Nearly New Fashions Resale Shop in Effingham, IL) to
look for antiques that I can get for next to nothing. I occasionally
go to Antique and Craft Stores, yard and/or garage sales, or
to auctions (general and estate auctions). Besides, you never
know what you'll find when you go to these places (just watch Antiques
Roadshow on PBS to see why).
Watching Certain Movies
I don't usually go to
the theater. In fact, it is so rare that if I am seen going
to a certain movie, chances are pretty good that it is a good movie
(check out My Favorite Movies section on this web page for
a list of some of my favorite movies).
Writing
Commentaries
I have written commentaries to tell people what I think
about various issues that are mof interest to me, including my Catholic
Faith and the War on Terror (includes Iraq).
these Commentaries can be found on the website "The
Big B Files".

Website Design and Maintainence*
I have designed and maintained
three websites over the past five years, one of which you are looking
at right now. The other two websites I have designed and maintained
are the Neoga
Pole People Online (Neoga, IL) and
Immaculate Conception Parish Online (Mattoon, IL) Websites.
Internet Surfing
I surf the internet for a few reasons. First, I surf
the internet to try to keep up with what is going on in the Broadcasting
Industry (which seems to change on an almost daily basis). I
also surf the internet to check out other websites to see how they
are designed and to see how they use the latest in website design
technology. The internet is also where I go to research information
on news stories in addition to getting information on the news stories
and the issues of the day for myself and my radio show, The
Big B Zone. Like most of the people in the USA today, I do
not rely solely on the Big Four Broadcast Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC,
& PBS) to get the news. I also surf the internet to keep up with
what's going on in the Catholic Church.
Shooting, Editing, Producing Videos*
I do it for three simple reasons. First, I do it for
fun. second, I do it so I could keep my skills fresh and that those
skills do not go to waste. third, it is something that I truly love
do..
Serving Mass at Weekday
Mass
I do it every Weekday in the Chapal at St. Anthony's
Hospital in Effingham, IL the Celebrant, Fr. Ralph Zetzel O.F.M. It
Is something that I truly love to and get an enjoyment out of it as
well.
* = I do this as
a volunteer and without being paid to do it.
